Sunday 8th June 2014 vs Crouch End Calthorpe C.C.

Batting Fails Wash Again

Washington C.C. 134 all out (38.3 overs)
Crouch End Calthorpe C.C. 136 for 3 (26.2 overs)

Peter Kloss reporting.

Unfortunately there was another disappointing result to report on Sunday.

Washington, having won the toss on a sunny day, were bowled out for 134, with only Aff Naseem (30) and Peter Kloss (30) building significant innings. This was actually something of a recovery from 78 for 7.

Crouch End were able to get the runs relatively comfortably in 26 overs with 3 wickets down. The 15 year old accomplished opener was the highest scorer with 51, and he seems destined for higher levels of cricket. Washington were somewhat embarrassed as, with excess availability, Mike Turner and James Cook both played for Crouch End, and both put in good performances. Turner was 32 not out and Cook scored 20 and kept for a while also.

For the Washington Gary Malcolm with 2 for 24 from 7 overs was the pick of the Wash bowlers.
