It was an grey overcast day at the LSE ground in New Malden. The pitch was a good one though.

Washington bowled well to pull Gnomes back from 84 for 1 and 129 for 3 to dismiss them for 168. There were 3 wickets from returning Wash son and ex club captain, Justin Gurney, as well as for current skipper Toby Mariner.

When Wash batted it was a bit of a disaster to begin with - 16 for 4 after 8 overs. But then a steadying partnership of 44 from Tom Allott (32) and Clinton Dugmore (25), as well as big hits and runs later from Shawn Hill (44*) and Gurns (20) took them close. In the end though Hill ran out of partners and Wash rued the first few overs.

Lord Gnome ran out winners by 15 runs.
