Sunday 7th August 2011 vs Broxbourne C.C.

Not Enough Batting

Broxbourne C.C. 169 for 6 (30 overs)
Washington C.C. 90 all out (25.1 overs)

Another disappointing batting performance saw the Wash lose at Broxbourne last Sunday. The highest individual score was 17 and the side was skittled for less than 100 in 25 overs.

However this was a Washteam of 8 regular bowlers, all of whom got a few overs. Broxbourne, a strong league club,  had a relatively strong side out and their coaching and discipline showed well to their credit. The gap in scores between the 2 sides more or less reflected the gap in skill and performance too, particularly with the bat. Short boundaries on either side of the wicket did contribute to a relatively high scoring rate for Broxbourne, but it was the same for both sides.
