The scribe of Solihull reporting ....

After last week’s heroics at Barnes, Wash copped a proper thumping on Sunday at at the hands of old friends Vishwa. On a sun-drenched August afternoon, Vishwa racked up 214-5 off 35 overs; in response, Wash were bowled out for 115.

Skipper Clint Dugmore lost the toss, but the visitors struggled in the early stages. Richard Creed bowling with an upright seam, mixing incutters and outcutters, had all the batsmen doing their best JR Hartley impressions; at the other end Dugmore himself bowled a couple of cracking yorkers and a one peach which pitched on leg and clipped the top of off.

At the halfway mark the visitors had managed 80 off 18, but after drinks Vishwa’s capable wicket-keeper bat Aprit, ably supported by Vicky (90) took the attack back to the Wash, leaving a significant target.

Despite a solid opening from Nick Golderich (8) and Tony Harris (26), plus decent contributions from Dugmore (23 and Josh (15), Wash fell well short - victims of brilliant fielding and intelligent bowling by Vishwa, who ended up jubilant and deserved winners by a margin of 99 runs
